CHENG, Runqing 程潤卿

Runqing Cheng is a second-year Ph.D. student at the Academic Unit of Human Communication, Development and Information Sciences at the University of Hong Kong, supervised by Dr. William Choi. Her area of research includes speech perception and production, as well as the transfer effect between music and language. She is also interested in the brain processing of speech and music and its implication for language learning.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Language Sciences (Neuroscience, Language & Communication) from University College London and a Bachelor of Linguistics from the University of Manchester.

YU, Kam Ping Doris  余錦平

Doris is a second-year PhD candidate. Her research interests are in phonetics and phonology, with a keen focus on comprehending how speech perception and production can be shaped by language experiences. Her research employs a cross-linguistic methodology, exploring the language acquisition patterns among individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds, especially those who are non-native speakers of Chinese.

LING, Cheuk Lam Katie

I am a PhD student planning to work on music and speech perception. As a music and language enthusiast, I am currently interested in how music training or musicianship affects speech perception and learning of tone language.
