CHENG, Runqing 程潤卿
Runqing Cheng is a third-year Ph.D. candidate at the Academic Unit of Human Communication, Learning, and Development at the University of Hong Kong, supervised by Prof. William Choi. Her area of research includes speech perception and production, as well as the transfer effect between music and language. She is also interested in the brain processing of speech and music and its implication for language learning.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Language Sciences (Neuroscience, Language & Communication) from University College London and a Bachelor of Linguistics from the University of Manchester.

YU, Kam Ping Doris
Doris is a third-year PhD candidate. Her research interests are in phonetics and phonology, with a keen focus on comprehending how speech perception and production can be shaped by language experiences. Her research employs a cross-linguistic methodology, exploring the language acquisition patterns among individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds, especially those who are non-native speakers of Chinese.

Helen is a first-year PhD student at The University of Hong Kong, supervised by Professor William Choi. Her research explores the relationship between bilingualism and music cognition. She is particularly interested in how language and music interact during complex tasks in bilingual contexts.

CHAU, Cheuk Lam Nicole 周卓琳
Nicole is a first-year MPhil student at The University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Professor William Choi. She graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in English language and linguistics and Music, and a Bachelor of Education in English language education. Nicole’s research interests are speech perception, music perception, and the connectivity between language and music.
